PBX and Switch Traffic Reporting
The STEPAR Traffic Reporting facility provides a wide variety
of PBX Traffic reports for Avaya Definity, Nortel Meridian,
and Nortel SL/100 PBXs, as well as Lucent 5ESS CO Switches.
Through STEPAR Traffic reports, telecommunications departments
can proactively assess their voice system performance, call
handling, peak call volume, trunk utilization, and a wide
variety of associated statistics to ensure uninterrupted
voice services to the corporation and its customers.
STEPAR
Traffic reports provide a critical tool to assess voice network
resource utilization, enabling telecommunications departments
to economize trunk utilization to significantly reduce voice
system expenses, while also planning the future capacity
required to deliver peak voice service levels.
The STEPAR Traffic report generation facility works in
conjunction with the ReliaTel Monitoring and Management solution
to continuously collect PBX and switch device activity statistics,
and log all activity in historical logs.
STEPAR then extracts, sorts, and correlates the ReliaTel
historical log data from the user selected PBX or switch,
applies industry standard traffic formulas including Erlang
B and Poisson, and then compares the results to the user-selected
grade of service. The results are presented in a variety
of detailed STEPAR reports and graphical charts depicting
PBX performance trends and traffic patterns.
Pre-defined, standardized traffic reports are easily generated
through the STEPAR web-based interface available through
any standard web browser. Users can select reports for a
given PBX or a group of PBXs, specify the timeframe to be
analyzed, customize the content and layout of the report,
and immediately generate the requested text-based or graphical
traffic report for viewing through the free Adobe .PDF reader.
Customized
reports can be saved by the originating user for their exclusive
use, or for subsequent future use by all authorized users.
All reports generated are fully secured through the ReliaTel
and STEPAR user permissions and security settings.
STEPAR Traffic report generation can also be scheduled,
automatically executed, and automatically delivered to specified
users via email or a corporate intranet on a periodic, re-curing
basis.
